Amritsar: The city police have nabbed four persons with 105-gm heroin in three different cases. These are Jatinder Yadav and Germanjot of Dayanand Nagar (both with 65-gm heroin), Pal Singh of Mustafabad (with 20-gm), Manjinder Singh and Kartar Singh Jatinder Yadav (with 20-gm heroin) — in three different cases. Prisoner escape from hospital
Amritsar: A Kapurthala jail prisoner escaped from Guru Nanak Dev Hospital here on Thursday. The police have booked the prisoner, Balwinder Singh, and three jail wardens Manvir Singh, Jaswant Singh and Angrej Singh, for dereliction of duty. The Majitha road police received a complaint from the office of Kaputhala Jail superintendent for lodging an FIR. The Jalandhar police had arrested Balwinder Singh of Ghurka village in Gorayan in a fraud case. He was lodged in Kapurthala Central Jail. Due to his deteriorating health, he was referred to GND Hospital here on December 17. On Wednesday, the jail guards informed the jail authorities that the accused had escaped from the hospital.
